Meet Lorca

Sweet. Intelligent. Joyful.

Lorça (Loh-Sah) is a lovely, sweet 5-year-old. She likes to play with dolls, sing and dance. She also enjoys playing on the swing set with the other children at the Haitian orphanage.

Lorça’s parents lost their house during the 2010 earthquake. They are living in a tent close to a river and because of the constant flooding, Lorça was often sick. Her parents asked the orphanage to care of her until their situation changes. Today, Lorça is healthy. She is surrounded by love, not only from her orphanage family, but from her biological parents who visit her every month.

Haiti was already the poorest country in the western hemisphere before the devastating earthquake in 2010. Today, many children are living in tents. Thanks to a home supported by Rice Bowls, Lorça is safe.
